Sock 102....SOS

OK, so tomorrow is the big day, my second sock class. I am suposed to have 7" knitted by tomorrow so that we can learn how to do the heel, which Sunday keeps talking about like it's a second language and one of the most difficult things to do. (OMG what have I done to myself???) Ok, so progression has been somewhat on the slow side. I started out ok, but over the weekend, I realized had dropped a stitch in my ribbing, and when I tried to fix it all went to hell in a hand basket. I couldn't get help until Tuesday. Does that make anyone else a little leary as to what my progression is like at this point since, if you are a regular reader of this blog you know that not only am I slow, I am a major procrastinator (ok, major might not be strong enough of a word, but this is a public website and those words just don't get throen around too easily). Here is a pic of where I was at last night

Now here is the progression as of 6pm tonight, after being at s-n-s most of the day, but I would like to say that Ben did come in for a cup of coffee, so he took up some of my time, my mind couldn't fully focus on doing both things, you know what that's like. So, I think it might be an all nighter for me....OY VEY!!!

Off to Phoenix, AZ

After some deliberation on my part, and on my DH's, we have decided that it be best to take my unexpected "time off" doing a little soul searching. To do this, I am going to take some time and go to visit my Aunt (Godmother) in Arizona for a couple of days, don't let me also forget my cousins that live there as well. This Aunt is my mother's only sister, and is very imortant to her, and to me. No matter how long we go without talking to eachother, she always tells my mom how special I am, and that I am the best there is. How could you go wrong with that. So I leave Friday morning on the 6:45 flight to AZ, and return on Wednesday on the 5:05 flight, that will give me enough time to spend time with my entire AZ family, whom I miss very much.

While I'm there I will have a lot of time to think about my future, and what I want to do, and in which direction I want to take my career. I will also be able to get a lot of knitting in, and I am looking forward to that.

I'm Learning to Make SOCKS

After my SP gave me some sock yarn for being such a great al to her, I decided that I was going to take a sock knitting class here at s-n-s with Sunday. Since I haven't really slept since Friday, trying to look at the tiny stitches and tiny DPN's it was very difficult. But, I can definitely tell you it seems interesting. I took a picture of the yarn, but no connection for my camera to my computer, so I will upload it later.

I HAVE, MUST decrease the amount of bags that I take with me to knitting or anywhere. I am a "Bag Lady" to the umpteenth degree, and I don't know what to do. Sheila loves me, but I think there will be a time where she just says get the F' out with all of those bags. NO MORE. I just get so......anxious when I think about having only one or two things to work on, so I have to bring 10, plus afew more to start, and now my laptop to boot.

Oh well knitting is calling my name.....

I MET MY SP

Sooooo, yesterday was a very busy day for me. My DH ended up letting me sleep in, I haven't been sleeping well the last few nights (I received some very disturbing and hurtful news on Friday), it will be a while before I will have a very good nights sleep. On to bigger and better I say, so I got up, had some D&D iced coffee and the tops to my muffin, and what turned out to be DH's muffin as well, then I showered and was off to Ridgefield where I had plans to meet up with and introduce myself to my SP (Laura). She was so nice, and even brought ME a GIFT, she said fo rbeing such a good SP. She gave me some sock yarn, which is very funny since I had just been thinking the day befor ethat I might like to start to learn how to make socks. The colors were so cool. Well, we sat in Starbucks and knit and chatted for a while (of course me more than her since I'm such a talker). She really loved the last gift I gave her (well, one more to come, I am in the process of finishing the Irish Walking Hat in a blueish/purple Mabrigo for her). One of the things I gave her I was hoping that she would dislike, adn want to give back, but no go, she liked it (some Tili Thomas silk yarn in these georgous bluiesh, yellowish, pinkish tones) OMG it was soooo georgous, if I do say so myself. I also gave her the Pirate Dictionary since she said her favorite holiday was "National Talk Like a Pirate Day".

All in all, it was a good day. I enjoyed meeting my SP, and I'm going to really enjoy learning a new knitting skill.

16 Candles

......And yes, I am referring to the movie. It is 12:45 on Saturday night, and I am trying to finish the Irish Walking Hat for my SP (whom by the way I am going to meet tomorrow - hat won't be ready, but pretty darn close for starting last night) and I am watching 16 Candles, saying everything word for word along with the movie and still LOVING it even with it now being like my billionth time seeing it. It's just at the end when the are at the church prepping for the wedding, almost to my favorite part. The scene "Sam walking out of the church with her sisters vail, and realizing everyone has left her behind, then looking up to see JAKE RYAN"!!! What female my age wasn't in love with JAKE RYAN???? JAKE RYAN!!!!!

No movie will ever top this as being the all time best movie, nor beat as being the ultimate 80's Icon film. Ok, back to knitting..
