My Shortest Blog Day From Hell

These are two of my first projects, i-Pod socks for my sister-in-law and sister. It took me four hours for each one, I can't believe how slow I knit. But these were my first real projects, on small needles, and small projects (i.e. nothing to hold).

I've done a few felted bags since (pictures to come shortly), I have knitted two sweaters, but am having great difficulty doing the finishing on them. I took a class, but I still just don't think I have it down. I don't know how long it takes to get finishing down, but I don't want the sweaters that I put all of my time and hard work into look like garbage because I can't seem it properly.

This picture is of my current project, I just love it. I am using different colors though. Mine is purple, pink, and blue. I just love it!!!! I'm using size 8 needles, and it's coming along, I can't say quickly, but it's coming. I just hope that when mine is finished it will look as nicely as this one. My other problem, is the yarn is rayon, so it is very moveable, and my fist time dealing with yarn like this. Oops! I have 1 hank that is a huge ball of knots, and one that I have to try and wind by hand because I messed it all up when I tried to use it on the ball winder and swift. DARN!! I got that thing for easability. I'm so disappointed, I am stuck on the pattern, and I won't be able to get to my LYS for two weeks to figure it out. How depressing is that. Just the no LYS for 2 weeks is bad, let alone the no major project deal.

Day Two - Here We Go

This is Baby, he is my knitting and traveling buddy, since I travel for my job, I take him everywhere I go (my version of the Expedia Gnome). My Husband gave him to me as one of my first gifts when we were dating. He's my knitting partner since he keeps the same hours as I do and sits next to me as I knit. And, unlike my husband doesn't mind how often or how much I knit. He loves my projects. Ok, so you have now figured out that I must be a tad be odd, but that's ok in this day and age. So last night I was at my local SNB at stix-n-stitches (in Montclair), and I have to say these are just the nicest group of women. Everyone praises everyone elses projects and loves everyone's yarn choices. It's so great to be able to go to a place where you get such reaffirmation. While I'm at work, I seem to get the exact opposite that going here makes me feel like a superstar! And, I hope I do they same for others. I didn't do much knitting last night though, primarily helped a little around the store (which I LOVE to do), and chatted with the women, but what's an SNB for if not to chat.

Since Blogger was down all afternoon I couldn't post everything I wanted to, so I will have to post more another day. I must now go and celebrate St. Paddy's Day!!

My first blogging day

I just love this picture. It truly explains it all. Today is my first day of blogging, so hopefully I do a good job.

Projects I have on the needles:

  • Silk Scarf - for myself
  • Finishing a sweater (actually trying to sew it now) from the winter issue of Easy Knitting (?) by lion brand using their Big brand - wow was it a quick knit, just not easy to sew together. Also, my first sweater.
  • Two tone purple bubble bag from Pursenalities
  • A wine tote made from Rio de la Plata
  • The Sophie bag from Magknits (in a teal looking Blue)
  • A pillow cover - for my girlfriend
  • i-Pod socks for some friends - I don't think I will ever finish them
  • Oh how could I forget the new sweater I just started (will post the link to the picture later)

I have so many projects going, it's unbelieveable. Even to me.
