How Terrific ....

Christina was going to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival this past weekend, and I loaned her my Ez-Pass, as I know what it's like to make that trip without one. She offered to pick me up something while she was there, and I told her that she didn't need to that, but when I saw her this past Tuesday, she had brought me back the most beautiful Koigu. She definitely put some thought into it because it is absolutely stunning, and my colorway. I was in awe of how generous she was, especially when I told her that she didn't need to bring anything back. Awwwww!


I already have the perfect sock pattern picked out. It's from Interweave Knits Spring 2007 "Staff Projects", the Seduction Socks by Ann Budd.

Roza's Socks

I am currently working on Roza's Socks from Interweave Knit's Spring/Summer Issue, they, like the Odessa Hat are by Grumperina. I was a little further along then in the below picture, but I found a dropped stitch several rows back, and I had to rip to get it. UGGHHHHH. I hate FROGS.

Socks - The best project for travelling. I met Joanne, a friend of my aunt's back on July 4th. I was at my Aunt Mary's, and my Aunt Donna came over a brought one of her dearest friends, Joanne L. from Maine who was visiting for the weekend. Well, I was sitting with the fam. out back by the pool, and of course I had several projects with me when I was introduced to Joanne a long time knitter. She had brought with her a pair of socks talking them up as great projects for travelling. My projects don't always tend to be tiny unless they are hats. I have recently taken a sock class, and gotten some wonderful sock yarn since from Cherry Tree Hill. I just got the current issue of Interweave Knits, and inside was Roza's Socks by Grumperina, and was completely inspired to pick up the needles and cast on for them. I am looking forward to the outcome.

SP9 Final gift

I got my final package from my secret pal (who won't reveal herself), but thank you to whom ever you are. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of everything, but I can tell you everything that was in the package. I got the package the other day, I was feeling a bit down, as I have been a lot lately (but that's how things go), and I was excited to open it up, when I turned it slightly to cut the tape all of these glittery little hearts came streaming out all over my bedroom floor, I was a little shocked, but moved the box over the garbage to continue opening things. The first thing I came upon was hand made socks in my favorite colorway, blue with a little teal and green (I have them on right now), then I got to the pink mug she got me, and a tea sampler to go with it, (and yes I do like tea) the new Josh Groban CD (looking forward to playing that), some red sock yarn that she hand rolled into workable balls (she read that I had stared to do the sock thing), there were two tea candles (pink of course with a lovely scent (I've already used them) I used them in conjunction with the relaxation bath salts that she sent, but have not yet tried the hand cream (which I am addicted to, constantly putting it on). So to who ever you might be, thank you very much for your wonderful gift, I am very appreciative of the thought and time that you put into the last package. I just LOVE pink.

Sock 102....SOS

OK, so tomorrow is the big day, my second sock class. I am suposed to have 7" knitted by tomorrow so that we can learn how to do the heel, which Sunday keeps talking about like it's a second language and one of the most difficult things to do. (OMG what have I done to myself???) Ok, so progression has been somewhat on the slow side. I started out ok, but over the weekend, I realized had dropped a stitch in my ribbing, and when I tried to fix it all went to hell in a hand basket. I couldn't get help until Tuesday. Does that make anyone else a little leary as to what my progression is like at this point since, if you are a regular reader of this blog you know that not only am I slow, I am a major procrastinator (ok, major might not be strong enough of a word, but this is a public website and those words just don't get throen around too easily). Now here is the progression as of 6pm tonight, after being at s-n-s most of the day, but I would like to say that Ben did come in for a cup of coffee, so he took up some of my time, my mind couldn't fully focus on doing both things, you know what that's like. So, I think it might be an all nighter for me....OY VEY!!!

I'm Learning to Make SOCKS

After my SP gave me some sock yarn for being such a great al to her, I decided that I was going to take a sock knitting class here at s-n-s with Sunday. Since I haven't really slept since Friday, trying to look at the tiny stitches and tiny DPN's it was very difficult. But, I can definitely tell you it seems interesting. I took a picture of the yarn, but no connection for my camera to my computer, so I will upload it later.

I HAVE, MUST decrease the amount of bags that I take with me to knitting or anywhere. I am a "Bag Lady" to the umpteenth degree, and I don't know what to do. Sheila loves me, but I think there will be a time where she just says get the F' out with all of those bags. NO MORE. I just get so......anxious when I think about having only one or two things to work on, so I have to bring 10, plus afew more to start, and now my laptop to boot.

Oh well knitting is calling my name.....
