So I have finished my bag, and am ready to felt it, but due to a little boo boo that Deborah was able to help me fix it should turn out fine, but I need to get either a jump rope or clothing line cord to string through the button holes in the bag. Will I ever knot anything that doesn't have a mistake? I am getting so done with that, it's very discouraging.
So while I wait to felt my bag, and go back to s-n-s so that I can learn how to pick up the stitches along the bottom of the summer sweater I am knitting, I picked up a new project. Go figure, me pick up a new project. BUT...... the yarn is from my stash! Yeah me for thinking ahead. I am making the knitted purse that is in Last Minute Kntted Gifts. The link goes directly to the cover page and there is a picture of my soon to be knitted bag, although I am using grey.
I am also knitting another i-pod sock, well cell phone really. This morning, at 4am, and I couldn't sleep I started on my friends (supposed) i-pod sock, but cast on for the cell phone sock instead. Oops! I guess she will get both if she really wants the i-pod one. I'll finally be able to shut her up though, all she does is bug me about not having done her sock. I have to say I am at complete fault with this one and she is right to nag me. I promised it to her for back in December. Oh well.
So, the reason I cannot sleep is due to this wedding that I am in on Saturday. Well, I bought the dress about 2mos ago, and was a little unsure of the getting the size I was getting, but my cousins told me that it fit perfectly. Well, a few weeks and tons of stress later, the dress doesn't fit. The dress said final sale, so one store would even exchange it for me for a different size. I finally went back to the original place I bought it, and they were so nice they exchanged it for me to one size larger. Well, guess what......Dress is still tight. Although this time I can zip it up, with help of course. The tailor is going to see what she can do by Friday evening, but I'm a glass half empty kind of gal, so I'm not planning on the better outcome. At least the dress will be hemmed in time. But I am just stressing about having turned into a "fatty patty" in less than 2 months. If I keep going at this rate I'll look like Fat Albert by the end of the year. OMG!
Oh well, the less sleep I get, the more knitting time I get, so it's sort of a loose/win situation here.

Traveling Blog - Day 1
I’m at the airport and have successfully passed through security with my million needles and dozen bags (ok a small exaggeration on the needles). At first I didn’t think they would let me through, as they stopped the belt when my bag went through and asked eachother about the contents. Oh the panic, 2 Hours on a plane, and NO KNITTING!!! NOOOOOOOOO. But the knitting Gods prevailed and saved me. So for the plane I brought my bag for felting, I’m only ½ way through. I have to get to a total of 18”, and I’m at 9 now. Deborah almost gave me a heart attack last night in class when she told me that it needed to be 16”, and I thought she said 60”. That would have been the difference between a body bag and the larger sized tote I am knitting. WOW! LOL a felted body bag, what’s next???
Now I’m on the plane, and I got the seat with the broken table tray, not that I’m going to use it for much more the typing my blog. but still to have to hold it up with my knee. Soon I’ll be able to post the pictures of my bag in progress, and of course the yarn that I am using for baby’s sweater. My cousin is FedExing me my camera overnight, it should be at the hotel when I arrive. YEAH! I’m not looking forward to this trip, but I am looking forward to any away time I can get to knit up my bag, the little I’ll have. We’re about to leave the gate, so I’m going to end here. I’ll pick up later, hopefully with a few pics to add.

To Knit or Not to Knit
I LOVE Knitting! I just LOVE it, but I am one of those people who have to master everything or I feel like my work is substandard. I have only been "truly" knitting since October, but feel that my knitting should be much further along than it is. I also knit kind of funky, so my knitting is slower than other people, and that makes me feel so second rate. Although I found out today that my funky knitting is "Continental", but I just throw an extra step into it. I was called a "Continental Knitter" by Sunday and Sheila, now is that a bad word or not? I pose this question to all who might read this. Hopefully, soon, I'll be able to speed up with this new knowledge.
My husband thinks I spend too much time knitting, and not enough time doing other things, like watching tv with him. Maybe I spend a little too much time doing it, but it's only because I want to get better, and I love the people I meet at knitting. On Tuesday, April 11, I went with my friend Calling on Kahlo to see the Yarn Harlot at the Rutherford library. We had lots of fun. We met lots of other knitters, and I have signed copy of her new book, thanks to Sheila at s-n-s, she's so thoughtful she sent one for me with Monica. All I had to do was read the first page and realize that my husband, family, and friends will never get my new obsession. Oh well.
I have just started a new project, go figure, a soon to be felted tote bag. I'm tacking a course with Deborah at s-n-s. Soon I'll have pictures back up here as I am receiving my camera back tomorrow. But for a small glimpse of my monstrosity, check out Calling on Kahlo's blog for me knitting it.So the other question I pose, is to Knit or not to Knit? Am I too obsessed or as the Yarn Harlot would have me believe, this is normal. Feeling balls of yarn and rubbing them ever so gently up against my face. Ok, myabe way to much info. I'm also about to start another new project, something small for my trip to Chicago. I am going to tackle a sweater for my little baby, see picture below. Now this sweater calls for DP's, and I'm not the brightest Crayola in the box when it comes to these. So we'll see how it turns out. But baby does deserve the best.
Well, back to the old grind stone, or not.
